The thread tap is used for tapping internal threads in through holes or shallow blind holes, such as threads in nuts, threaded inserts, pipes, valves, and the round die can process, correct or clean external threads on rods or bars, bolts or studs.

Reverse every half turn or so to break up chips and prevent binding.
